With the proper planning, experience, and equipment, winter camping can be a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience. Outfitted with snowshoes and Komatiks (traditional Inuit sleds), we'll head across the frozen waterways and snow-laden forests of Northern Ontario's backcountry in search of a perfect base-camp location. Once found, you'll have the opportunity to construct your very own quinzee (snow shelter) or help in the set-up of our woodstove-heated tent. After a refreshing night's sleep we'll head out on snowshoes and explore our newly acquainted winter world. Designed as an introduction to winter camping, our guides will cover everything from packing to ice safety, weather interpretation, wildlife tracking, and more.
