Designated as a Canadian Heritage River, the Grand has always been an important feature of Southern Ontario's history and landscape. As it winds its way along it's 290 kilometer course, the Grand River and its tributaries drain the largest watershed in this part of the province. The area is home to a great diversity of plant and animal life, including many Carolinian species which flourish here. For our trips we have chosen a stretch that passes through the spectacular Grand River Forest between Cambridge and Paris; perfect for beginner and intermediate canoe enthusiasts and sure to be an educational experience for everyone.
